Like traditional Moving Averages, the indicator Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) also calculates average prices traded in a selected period but adds trade volume to its calculation.
The indicator shows, on the chart, the accumulation of volume on price levels where there is greater interest by investors.
To add it to your desktop, access the Indicators menu, and select Add Indicator:
Modify parameters and appearance by right-clicking the bookmark title and selecting VWAP Properties:
This way, it’s possible to see support and resistance points clearly on the chart, taking different intervals into consideration, which can be adjusted on VWAP Properties.
To adjust the VWAP Properties, right-click the indicator and select “VWAP Properties”.
From this point on, it’s then possible to establish different intervals for VWAP’s calculation, making volume-pondered price analysis even more robust.
At last, on VWAP Properties, it’s also possible to customize VWAP’s appearance, altering aspects such as line color and thickness on the chart.
